Will I notice the difference between these resolutions?

Im trying to choose between a 24″ LCD TV with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 3.4 ms response time and a 22″ LCD TV with 1366 x 768 resolution and 5ms response time. Will the lower specced TV be much worse than the 24″? It has a built in HD tuner so I want to watch in HD.

First of all, 1366×768 is a computer monitor resolution. You wouldn’t get the best video quality if you were watching a 720p video as the image must be slightly stretched to fit the screen. I would go with the 1080p because it is the standard these days for high def TV and Blurays. You might not think so, but 720p video plays great on a 1080p tv or monitor. When I port 720p videos from my pc to my 40″ 1080p tv it looks pretty damn good.

All studio and home theater equipment in the next 2-3 years will be designed exclusively for 1080p so it really is the way to go. That is until 1440p comes out, heheheheh

Either TV is considered high definition. Many people don’t realize that 720 is also high def, but it is. However, I would go with the 1080 for the response time or “refresh rate”.

Also, any new TV that has a tuner has an HD tuner. All over the air signals are now broadcast in HD. By adding this to the list of features, it is simply a marketing ploy to make uninformed shoppers thing they are getting something extra. But unless you are going to throw some rabbit ears on your TV, this is meaningless.
