What is the difference between regular formula and the stage 2 formula?

Anyone use it? What’s the difference? I know it says it has more calcium. Why would a baby need a stage 2 formula?

It’s “supposed” to be a replacement for whole milk if, for whatever reason, they aren’t drinking milk at 12 months. It has a bit more calcium then milk, as well as some added nutrients and vitamins. But, just a milk supplement.

My daughter was on it for a bit after she turned a year old. She had a milk protein allergy, and we was told to try that before trying whole milk. She ended up growing out of her allergy, but ended up having a bottle of the stage 2 formula until she was 18mo.

It certainly isn’t needed if your child eats and drinks a balanced diet, but it’s also something that can help if they are going through a picky eating stage. Other than that, no baby really needs it.
