What is a good Valentines Day gift to get a spouse you can not be with for the holiday?

Currently deployed to Korea, my wife and 2 kids are back in the states. We will be spending Valentines day (as well as every other holiday this year) away from each other like many other military families. This question is for anyone who has a unique idea of something special to do that is fitting for a holiday that usually includes proximity.

Depends where their at? Get them a gift card (kids) to a Toys-R-US and your wife get online and get her flower delivered and a free hair dresser or massage thing.

Hmmmm, why don’t you and some of your buddies get something that could record you guys, sing a love song, and send it to your spouse? I don’t know, I’m 14, but have a nice day!

You could get her a charm bracelet, and for valentines day get her a heart charm, with a not that even though miles separate you she will always have your heart, and then for the next holidays you could get her charms that correspond with the holidays, with notes of love with them, you could also give her IOU.s, I owe you one night on the town, I owe you one day to just us together, etc…

To me, the best Valentine’s Day gifts are jewelry, chocolate or flowers, so I suggest one of the following online stores for great gift ideas.

    Jewelry:
    Ice.com
    Diamond.com
    BlueNile.com

    Chocolate/Gourmet Treats:
    CookieHQ.com
    SecretSpoon.com
    MrsFields.com

    Flowers:
    FTD.com
    1-800 Flowers
    Proflowers.com

    Good luck this Valentine’s Day!

When my husband, then boyfriend, was away in another state, I did the following for his birthday…might work for Valentines too with a little tweaking.

I went around to all his friends and had them give a birthday message (you could do a “we love you” idea for this in stead). I also went around and filmed different places that we would usually spend time together. You could end it off with a romantic message from you (hmmm…expect him to share this with his buddies, so if its TOO romantic you might want to put it on a different tape.) Korea I think has a differnt video standard, so you will want to have that converted over (not sure about CDS).

A sexy picture of you would also be a present he’d appreciate.

Send her a huge bouquet of flowers, they always make a lady happy. Then when people ask she will tell them who___YOU.If she works out of the house, send them to work, she’ll get to show them off.Don’t forget to send her a hand written card from Korea and that will be her keepsake.Put some mushy stuff in it, like “hope this is our last Valentines away from each other, can’t wait to make up for all the lost time”….Hope this helps.
