Answers to Everyday Questions : Last-minute Valentines day date…yes or no?

I have a profile on a dating site and have guys talking to me all the time. Yesterday (3 days before Valentines day), a new guy started sending me messages on there saying how hot I am and asked me if I have a Valentine. I told him I don’t and he asked me if I would like to be his Valentine. He lives not far away from me. From the 5 messages he has sent me, he made me laugh in all of them so I can tell we’d get along very well.

However, don’t you think it’s a bit too last-minute and odd to meet a guy I don’t know and only seen a couple pictures of, on Valentines day? My friends say I shouldn’t go. What’s your opinion on this?
