How should I handle an odd encounter with an ex girlfriend?

In odd, i guess I mean any encounter period. I do not talk to any of my exs. Breakups were pretty civil and i just started recently running into one here and there.

If the breakup was civil, I’d say just go with the flow. Don’t try and avoid her — all that will do is create awkwardness and throw out some of the civility you speak of. Think of her as an old friend you were only kind of friends with. You acknowledge her. If she acknowledges you and stops, strike up a conversation. But keep it brief and move on.

By showing you can handle a break-up like with maturity and an even keel, you’ll score major points with your friends (and other potential dating partners) as someone who’s confident, cool and likes to leave everyone, even ex-girlfriends, with a good impression of you. That’s the way you want to be.

hey mate, If you split up ok, then be amicable and polite and don’t lead her on. As I told another bloke, she’s and ex for a reason, so tread lightly.
If she’s a nice chick and not a bunny boiling , best mate screwin hag, then by all means see her, but just play it cool. Whatever happens happens.

so what, just pay no mind, if she smiles and says hi, just say hey and smile back, no big deal

small talk, dont brag or gloat, keep it short and sincere, DONT make any future plans, try to listen to her rather than talk about what has been up in your life, you will feel better if you dont say to much about yourself.

just keep your head up high.
Show them you are better than them.
Smile and say a casual hello ( if needed), and just small talk.
    Make them want you back!
