How do you maintain a suitable amount of groceries in the house with teen boys?

I have 3 teen boys and my companion and I haven’t found a great way to keep groceries in the house with out breaking ourselves. Those of you with growing boys, how often do you grocery shop and how much do you spend on groceries?

5 kids, 3 boys, 2 girls, $200 ish every 10 days. Buying in bulk helps.

It’s amazing how many groceries you can get (and in bulk too) for $300.

I was in a family of 6 with all of us only a few years apart. HIDE FOOD!!! That’s the best kept secret! Buy in bulk and make them go over to their friend’s house instead of them coming over to yours. You can embarrass them and they’ll leave in a heart beat!

Give them an allowance to purchase the groceries you need. You could probably save money by limiting how much you give them. Which in turn only allows them to buy certain things. With a set income they learn how to conserve money, manage finances, and choose only what they truly desire. Many viable traits in today’s world.
