How do I start toilet training my daughter?

My daughter is 16 months old, and definitely showing signs of being ready for the potty. She will sit on it with her pants on without a problem, but if I take them off and sit her on it she screams and won’t stay on. any tips from parents who have successfully trained their children?

    Yea, jus sit on da potty yerself wid yer pants off.

    try useing a doll or a teddy bear……….sit it on the potty and wip its bum, wash its hands etc just so your daughter knows whats she is ment to do when useing the potty….do this a few times and then she will start trying it her self
