How do I manually add more resolutions to my pc?

I reformatted my computer last night. It defaulted my resolution to two choices, 800×600, or 1024×768. My compter requires 1280×1024 to not be stretched.

I went onto the HP website to reinstall my drivers, and I installed the Nvidia GeForce 7150m graphics driver, (it was the only option HP had for my model), and I rebooted and my two resolution options are still 768×1024 or 800×600. Help.
I know how to change my settings in the display settings menu. I still have only two options.

And I tried to dowload from Nvidia directly but it said that HP requires I install the driver from their site directly.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6913rs Entertainment Notebook PC

Right click on your desktop there will be an NVIDIA option or a “Screen resolution” or “graphics settings” something along those lines depending on your PC, you can change them there 🙂 Hope it helps, let me know if you cant find it an I’ll see what I can do 😛

    If that doesn’t work
Start Menu > Control Panel > Appearance and personalization > Display > Adjust Screen Resolution

Oh ok, I just re-read… it sounds to me like you have the wrong driver, either for the wrong PC, OS or Graphics Card… try redownloading or downloading a different version, I think the NVidia site has a driver section which scans your computer and selects the correct driver… try that?
    (Option 2)

Hm…. try rebooting in safe mode and seen if more options appear?

you need to see if you are using the built in video card or a add on video card either way you have DL the wrong drivers for your set up.

aww 1280×1024 is a cute lil resolution.

get the latest driver from Nvidea, not HP. and uninstall the current driver before you reinstall

Helps if you listed your make, model and version of Windows in your question.

    Vista?
I do not see the model 7150m on the HP site. This is the only video driver I found for your laptop.
