My GF upset with valentines idea for her family?
My GF recently had to go to the ER and had a hospital stay of 3 days. She was released on bed rest and is staying at her familys. Her family has helped out so much, taking care of everything and I have been over at the familys as much as possible.
I had wanted to express my gratitude to the female members of the family by buying bouquets of flowers for each one on valentines day. This would be for the mother and 2 sisters, or 3 total bouquets. Plus of course one with some chochlates for my GF.
I ran the 3 bouquet idea passed my GF and she got pissed at me. She didn’t want me to do it. She understood I wanted to say “Thanks” but said I should buy a DVD player (theirs is broken) or a microwave oven (theirs is old). She said that 3 bouquets of flowers would be to much and her family would feel uncomfortable with me spending that much money. I didn’t tell her that I also ordered her a bouquet as I wanted to keep it a suprise, but I think she can guess.
After arguing with my GF she finally said that I could buy 1 bouquet of flowers (not roses) for all of the women to share. That way they could place it somewhere central and all would enjoy it. I am considering this idea, but would buy roses just to spite my GF.
Would 3 bouquets of flowers be too much? Would this make the family uncomfortable? Or is this just some jealously thing my GF has?
Some history: her sister was my previous GF, so my current GF may have jealously issues. What do you think?

I think it is a very nice gesture and your GF shouldn’t be getting pissed over you saying thankyou. Just make sure that what you get her is better than what you give the inlaws.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head when you said it may be because of her sis being your ex. I mean, that would bother me. But other than that…my hubby does this for my family every year. Tough spot to be in.
