How protected is a baby while inside the womb?

I ask this cause yesterday I had a scare while swimming in a river, I ran into a log underwater and it hit my stomach. I hurt a bit and winded me for a second, but I had no bleeding or have not had any pain since. I am scared I may have hurt the baby, I am just under 12 weeks pregnant. Does anyone know if this is a concern, or is he or she pretty padded in there against small bumps like that?

Your baby is well protected, especially prior to 12 weeks.

You baby is still located in your pelvic region, in it’s little sac and fluid. Well protected from external forces 🙂

Your little baby is not even 2 inches in size yet, so teeny tiny lol, well protected and safe in pelvic region.

If you are worried, ring and speak to your obs/doc/midwife 🙂

since you are only 12 weeks pregnant, the baby is tiny and has a lot more protection than if you were about to pop. i would just take it easy for now on so you don’t get another scare like that. but your baby will be completely fine,, if you had a misscarriage you would have already shown signs of it such as bleeding and major cramping. don’t even worry about it, if this happened when you were say 34 weeks pregnant, i would go to the doctor to make sure everything was fine but since it’s so early, the baby will be fine.
