Feminist, do you get upset when all of the resolutions passed on your behalf by the UN?

are always unenforceable?

Do you think the UN should have their own troops so they can enforce the numerous resolutions?

i think that having troops would defeat the purpose of the UN. the un doesn’t do much for me…i could care less.

When’s the last time the U.N. was actually able to enforce anything it passed? 1946, maybe?

Tracey is spot on. The UN is pretty much a joke. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good idea in principle, but it is toothless when it comes to enforcing its own resolutions.

The UN does have troops, drawn from various countries, for things like peace keeping missions. However they can’t be proactive, only fire when fired upon. They can’t even stop local warlords appropriating food supplies meant for starving peoples.

Might not be a feminist but if UN resolutions ever did have power..eek

Time to start a mass revolt?

I think a lot of people just watch the headlines. If you actually read some of those “resolutions”, just disturbing beyond what I am capable of withstanding(meaning I understand them but am appalled by them to such an extent…).
